Macbeth
William Shakespeare
2025 San Jose State Coursework
For my Macbeth design concept, I did not want to stray far from the period in which it was performed; the dramatism of the show ties in well with the very extravagant nobility fashion. I want to pull a lot from what was historically worn by nobility and royalty in the 1600s in Scotland, Ireland, and England. Specifically, I would like to add focus to the complex, intricate designs of the decade, the powerful silhouettes, and the colorful nature of the textiles.
I was very inspired by the maximalist, extremely complex, and defined fashion of the time, as well the trinket-heavy, detailed outfits that I often see at the Ren-faire, translated into a more specific era and historical accuracy.
