When designing Intimate Apparel, I focused on distinct color palettes and historical pieces that held a lot of detail and personality. I was inspired by the intricacy of the costumes described in the play, the beautiful corsets I came across on the MET digital gallery, and the challenge of reflecting each characters and their complex, shifting relationships.
